Days with very strong attendance

Le donjon et le grand bastion du château du Haut-Koenigsbourg vus depuis le chemin d'accès

Make the most of summer at the castle!

The castle is currently experiencing a very busy period!

A few tips before visiting the castle
- The castle is currently open from 9.15am* to 6.45pm - last entry at 5.45pm.
(Mondays at 10.30 am).

It's best to visit the fortress in the early morning or late afternoon, when there are fewer visitors.

- To avoid waiting time at the ticket office, remember to buy your tickets online at https://tickets.haut-koenigsbourg.fr/en-GB/home. They will allow you to go straight through ticket control.

- You can also buy tickets on site (subject to availability for activities with a capacity limit). As the waiting area is outdoors, please bring clothing suitable for the weather. Waiting times can be long.

- For booked activities, don't forget to allow for this large number of people and the time needed for parking and getting to the venue. If you are late, you will not be able to access your booked visits.

- To avoid parking problems, take the Haut-Koenigsbourg shuttle bus! All the information and timetables are available at: https://www.haut-koenigsbourg.fr/en/practical-information/haut-koenigsbourg-shuttle/ You can also take advantage of reduced admission to the château (on presentation of your shuttle ticket) and to the Volerie des aigles, the Montagne des singes and Cigoland.

- If you have the opportunity, we would remind you that the off-season offers many possibilities for visiting the monument. The shimmering autumn colours give it a very special touch!

Here's a reminder of some practical information:

- The tour route includes 300 steps of different heights and orientations.

- Pushchairs are not allowed. If you are bringing young children, we advise you to bring a baby carrier.

- Animals are not allowed except for guide dogs and assistance animals (upon presentation of proof).

- The 757 restaurant, the Pavilion, the Shop and the Bookshop are open non-stop.

Enjoy your summer and your visit to Haut-Koenigsbourg castle!
